Why Does My Extension Ask for Permissions?

When an extension requests permissions like tabs or activeTab, it can sound concerning. However, these permissions are only used to interact with the currently active tab — nothing more.

• I do NOT collect your browsing history
• I do NOT monitor your activity on other websites
• I do NOT sell browsing-history data or use Calendar data for advertising
• I do NOT communicate with third-party trackers or collect any data from them unlike other extensions
• I do NOT store any data on my servers or databases
• I do NOT use any third-party libraries or SDKs that collect data
• I do NOT sync LMS data to Google Calendar unless you connect it and grant permission

7. Optional Google Calendar Sync

Firewall Bypass VU offers an optional Google Calendar connection. If you choose to connect it, the extension reads your Virtual University LMS activity and fee information and creates or updates events in a dedicated calendar in your Google account. This can include your student ID, course and semester, activity titles and deadlines, completion status, and fee challan number, amount, and due date. These details are sent directly from your browser extension to Google Calendar so Google can store the events and show reminders.

Calendar access is requested only when you connect. The extension uses Google's calendar.app.created permission to manage calendars it creates; it does not need access to your other calendars. Sync records and connection status are stored locally in your browser, not on my servers. Disconnecting stops future sync and marks the local connection as disconnected, but it does not delete events already copied to Google Calendar. You can delete that calendar and revoke access in your Google Account settings. Calendar data is not sold or used for advertising.
